I was reading McSpocky's "What are You thankful for" and reading through it, each comment reminded me that I have so many blessings, they need a column of their own!
It's snowing like mad here, but we had a lovely, if short, summer.
I have a warm, secure home to live in and share with my new kitty and 13 fishes.
I have a car that still runs.
I get Social Security Disability as an income, it may not be much but it is more than many have.
I have four beautiful adult children who are succeeding in their lives, three very happily married. The fourth, I'm still praying for him to get a loved one.
I have six beautiful Grandchildren, ranging from 6 months to 13 years, whom I get to see very frequently.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, but it isn't terminal, and there are things that help with the pain.
I had a partner for 20 years, for the best years of my life, who is suffering through cancer, but still keeps in touch with me.
I have sufficient food and warm clothing.
I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, left from our original family, and though we are now the elders, we can share love and memories.
From my brothers and sisters, I have 8 nieces and nephews, and between them, they have 6 children. Our family still thrives, and we do, at least, share most holidays.
All of my children but one, live near me and are always willing to help me, spend time, or share problems.
My youngest sister and her children also live near me, only a couple of blocks away, and she hosts all of our Holidays. (It used to be my job for more than 40 years) but she has the big house now.
I can still cook and do everything I need to, for myself.
My oldest son bought me new glasses this year! Whoohoo! (First ones in 7 years!)
My daughter was here to bury the two old kitties I lost.
One of my Grandsons is here with me almost every week end, and his school breaks.
I have this computer, which my partner gave me when he left, and it has helped introduce me to my wonderful friends, here at newsvine, without which, some of my days might be pretty dreary.
In fact, I have so many blessings in my life, it would takes weeks to name them all.
These aren't necessarily in any special order, but each is important to me, and I consider them ALL blessings , joy in my life, peace and serenity.
I hope each of you reading this will try to count your blessings, and revere your life.
We are here for only a short time, use it to realize happiness.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING............................gobble, gobble, gobble up your treasures. :-)
